Finally ;)

Chai is a playful girl... She climbed up to the top hole in Joanna's toy storage, hanging from the ceiling, and crawled in. Well, if no one wants to play, what else could she do but start destroying stuff?! ;)
Young Jeppson seem to have failed to mate Nessie at her last heat period, but he will get another chance.
Our sweet girl Chai turned 6 months and develops just lovely. Her weight now is over 3.9 kg!
It was great meeting Illyrian and his owners - he has developed just great! A big and sweet boy.
Nessie, our sweetheart, is already one year of age!

Sad to say that me and the photo editing software disagreed so the pictures of Wolverine will have to wait to another day.

Happy!

We are of course both happy and relieved that all our four cats tested against HCM today had perfect hearts! Isa, Älva, Nessie and Jeppson had no complaints and the measurements were well within limits and they also got praise for being so calm and sweet. They behaved perfectly, but of course it helped that the veterinarian and nurse was so calm and competent :) The others will of course be tested as well, but we await Tigrinya's first birthday for the second batch.

Promise to make some time to fix photos for the web... Hope to get an evening by the computer this week, but you all know how those plans can change ;)

Situation update

Well, plans are meant to be changed, aren't they?

Jeppson has had a tough time trying to integrate in our group of dominant girls... For three months he had daily fights with Älva (on equal footing) and he got beat up by Vimsan as often as she felt like having some fun (she loves to tease!). After having spent a couple of weeks away from the dominant ladies, he has gained weight and his condition has improved visibly. We thought he would be sad and miserable but he is as sweet as always. Of course he gets long visits several times a day and he
has lots of room to run around in (indoors). Nessie has visited daily as well, but not Chai as he is a bit too much in love with her and we prefer to wait a while for her first litter. As it works out so nicely so far, we will try to keep
him fertile for at least a year. That means Älva will have to wait for her meeting with him until next year. Of course - these plans can change as well ;)

Nessie and Älva started calling last week on the same day and we decided to let Jeppson try to mate Nessie. They spend the days together, but so far we have not seen a single attempt. Well, sooner or later he will hopefully find out how to do it and we are not in a hurry.

Well, we have learnt our lesson. Our ladies are obviously not ready to let go of the territory to an already fertile young male. If we ever try to introduce a new breeding male in the group, he will most definitely be a kitten when he arrives in our home... I really hope Jeppson will be able to integrate fully without fights sooner or later as we all love him.

The past weeks we have visited both Wolverine and Illyrian and the camera is full of pictures! I hope to get a few hours by the computer soon to update our website...

Wolverine has turned into a big and furry teddybear, as sweet and beautiful as always. Illyrian has grown into a big and strong-built youngster and would welcome a beautiful cat lady with a nice pedigree before he becomes a neuter very soon...

New plans...

Well, I guess most of you know how difficult it can be to hold a fertile male in the house... Jeppson is starting to show the others he is growing up and has sprayed a few times this week. Two of the older girls is trying to keep him under control, so the situation is far from perfect. Sweet Jeppson has never been in a cat run and loves to cuddle in our laps, so we cannot see him separated from our family, living outdoors. A big difference from Nicky who loves it outdoors and dislikes being indoors for more than a few moments.

Sweet Jeppson is a true lapcat, loves to cuddle and bites our fingers if we take a break stroking his soft coat. We are very pleased with his development and we are confident he will make stunning babies. He is bit long and thin all over but has a nice length and height for his age.

So, the most reasonable solution at the moment seems to be to let him meet Älvis and Nessie as soon as possible and thereafter let him be an unbearably cuddly neuter :) We will see how fast they start calling and if he knows what to do. If the situation changes, we will of course keep him fertile for a while longer!

As we think he has lovely qualities, we might consider letting a one or two females from another cattery visit as well.
