Almost weekend...

Feeling sort of swamped right now. This weekend, Norsk Skogkatt United will (together with Spinneriet) organise their first international cat show. It will be great fun :)
If you wait for email from me, I hope you can be patient enough to wait until after the weekend...

Anansi had her first HCM-test today and passed without hesitation. All values were within normal limits and she behaved nicely. Our sweetheart :)

More show results

Last Saturday was spent on another show and we brought Nessie along. She behaved perfectly as usual and got her seventh CAGCIB (need eight as we did not go to a third country) and also BIV-total in group 3. For nomination, the judge chose a sacred birman without further explanation. Our former host cat Yawning Angel got a marvellous judgement and got both her sixth CACE but also BIV in group 4! That would have been enough to make me happy, but without hesitation, she was also nominated! In the panel she got one vote out of five. The judges did not agree at all so the votes were scattered over four cats, meaning that the winner got two votes.
It was not Nessie's day at the show, but instead it obviously was her daughter's! She got a fantastic judgement and got Ex1 out of two and also BIV 3-10 months. The nomination was hardly a surprise after the nice words earlier, but at least I became totally surprised when Pointy got four out of five votes in the panel and became Best in Show! It was her second BIS as a youngster :)
Pointy is a very special character... Totally adorable even if she might be slightly obnoxious with her constant cuddling ;)
Last weekend, SeaMonkey got his second Best in Show in Norway! Out of four competitors, he got Ex1 BIV NOM both days and BIS one of the days. Already keeping our fingers crossed for his next show... He is gorgeous! Thanks Linda at Fodnaheia's for a very nice photo!

Chai outdoors

Just a bunch of pics of our beautiful Chai today. Her coat has started to grow and she is as big as ever (around 5.8 kilos). She is full of life, constantly checking out what happens in our home and she often acts like she is still a kitten. Unfortunately she is also full of hormones, but perhaps she would be better off without pills? Well, she would be constantly in heat, so... She and Anansi are the best of friends, cuddling as soon as they are near each other but also chasing each other and just being up to mischief together. Her offspring have turned out stunning and cuddly so we are quite pleased. SeaMonkey for example got his second BIS last weekend in Norway! Well, here comes the pics. Ain't her ear tufts just gorgeous?! Enjoy!

GSD IV-tests

Today we got papers with tests results from the GSD IV-tests we sent in. We are pleased to say that all three tested cats were normal. So, with the earlier tests made by others freeing some of our cats we can gladly announce Enigma, Kiwawa, Tigrinya, Älva, China, Anansi and also Jean-Paul as free (as well as all offspring out of some combination of parents listed above). Bridget Jones is not tested yet as both her parents will be tested.

List of kittens used in breeding (or still not neutered) who are GSD IV-normal (i.e. not carrying the disease):
Yawning Angel, Little Rascal, Phoenix, Nightcrawler, Tigrinya, Stardust, Anansi, Sandman, Coraline, Shadowplay, Nightwish, Dragonforce, Dreamtale.
