Power Play

The youngsters are getting very playful!
Here they are all of them. Posing nicely? Why should they ;)
An extra picture of Firefox, quite tired. His siblings have scratched him over his both eyes, so I apologise for the visible dried crusts close to his eyes. They will fall off soon. Also Thunderbird has a crust in the corner of his eye after a sharp claw. The sweethearts are active and strong...

The Girl in Question

Today I will only show some borrowed pictures...
First a BIG congrats on Pointy's Ex1 BIV 3-10 NOM BIS today in Hässleholm, Sweden! We are awfully proud that she behaved perfectly, charmed lots of people and managed to win it all! Yesterday she lost to the same competitor but it was so close. She is a girl who loves to be admired, just like her ancestor Enigma, but she also know how to show off! She has loads of charisma, a big self-confidence and winning personality added to her sugarsweet outer appearance. Huge thanks to Carolina at S*Zarkesha's for showing her in perfect shape and for a great picture!
Thanks Emely for a charming litter photo of the metal-litter! They turn nine weeks of age on Tuesday and develop just great. They have nice weights and promising type. Apologise again for the absence of new pictures, but I will fix this next week...

Heartthrob

Sorry for late pictures on the MozillaSoftware-litter and an even bigger apology for no 8-week pictures of the Metal-litter. Sometimes the circumstances are less favourable for kitten picture updates. The metal-babies are doing great and pictures will come, I promise.

After being away from home for two days, I got to see the babies in a new light at arrival and I am simply amazed at their beauty and also their even and high quality! Strong boning, straight profiles, strong chins and the cutest fold-over dog ears... I am so happy to see that the technical details we have tried to conserve seem to be found in all four of our 3rd generation kittens after our special couple Kiwawa and Enigma, with something extra added in each new generation. Isn't breeding marvellously fun?! At least when it works ;)
Firefox is a gentle giant, big and strong and calm. A big boy with a weight of 555 grams at 3 weeks of age. Well, they all have nice weights if not that impressive.
SeaMonkey is the funny guy, walking around already and the most social.
Sunbird and Thunderbird are not twin-like in neither looks nor behaviour but anyway we think of them like that - reminds us in look a lot of their ancestors on daddy's side.

Long Days Journey

It has been some long days at work this week and even longer evening tonight working by the computer to bring pictures to everyone who waits... Tonight I have uploaded pictures of the Metal litter aged 7 weeks 2 days and the Mozilla Software babies at 2 weeks. If you are interested and want to see more pictures, just send me an email and I will direct you to a gallery.
Prince Firefox! He has stolen my heart and he already has many admirers... We are quite pleased with the entire litter: They all have very high qualities and it feels like an even litter.
Dreamtale did not feel like posing, but the boys actually cooperated in some way for a few seconds...
Vimsan - here hunting a snake! This one happened to escape, but she has eaten heads and tails off a couple so she is more than meets the eye, our blue-white beauty...

Judgement

We wish to congratulate Stardust with owners Sonia and Emanuele to a successful show weekend in Vertemate, Italy! Both days she got Ex1 NOM and Best Opposite Sex and on Sunday she also got Special Prize! We are proud as well to hear that she is a cool and purring girl who enjoys shows :) Photo copyright Trollstigen cattery

At the same time, we wish to congratulate two sons of S*Restless Lynx to great show successes this weekend as well:

EC (N)Josimo's Anton Rampekvakk who got CACE BIV NOM BIS (Saturday) and CACE BIV NOM and became Europa Champion (Sunday). Big congrats Bjørg and Siv Monica!

CH (N)Skaujenta's Heike who got CAC BIV NOM BIS and became Champion (Sunday). Big congrats Brita and Julie!

We are proud to see the fantastic show results after Lynx' offspring, especially since they resemble him so much.

Redefinition

I guess we have to redefine the colours of the Metal-kittens... Each week I go through the coats thoroughly after signs of silver and that was what I did two days ago as well. At a short visit today, I realised just by looking at Nightwish from a distance that he must be silver! It shines through quite visibly between his dark stripes on the sides of his body. The coat on his back is also quite visibly silverish 2-3 mm from the roots. The same we can say for Dragonforce as well and perhaps the others will develop in the same direction during the weeks to come? OK, the silver is not perfect, but we hardly expected that anyway ;)

Have to add though that they are lovely both in type and temperament! Jeppson and Tiggy did an amazing work! Straight profiles, strong chins, lovely headshapes, nicely balanced bodies with good boning and tufted ears. It is difficult to judge ear sizes when they are so heavily coated, but when folded over the eyes (a measure that I use on kittens to at least have something to go after when comparing between litters), they prove to be quite fine in size! The tails? Well, we are hardly known to have tails reaching longer than the shoulderblades so why change the concept in this litter?! ;)

A New World

It is finally spring! Both cats and humans here have longed for the world to become colourful again.Jeppson enjoys the weather! Well *hrm* we never succeeded to go through with the neutering - yet... Actually he has a girl on visit ;) Perhaps that is one of the reasons why he makes somersaults on the ground?!
Our beautiful old boy Nicky loves to go for long walkabouts, but I'm sure he loves it even more now the wildlife is more active...
SeaMonkey has such a lovely pattern! The little ones grow nicely and are simply lovely!
Red might not be my favourite colour either, but Firefox seem like something extra anyway...

Smile Time

The past few days, we have been waiting for Chai to finally be ready to give birth to her second litter: the bonus litter we got after her successfully treated pyometra. We are thankful to have gotten the opportunity for a litter after Mozilla from our Web browser litter - thanks Annika! This was a combination that felt totally right.
In the meantime, Chai has been the big mama of the house, cuddling the other cats and dragging Big Bad in his neck if he did not come with her out of free will... Here she cuddles with her daughter Anansi from her first litter. She was pretty fed up with her daughter who never seem to move to her own place, but that's forgotten now.
Chai kept us on our toes since Monday, ready for kitten birth any second... She wanted us to sit next to her in the nesting area, cuddling her belly and holding paw. We had almost given up that the kittens would arrive at all when she woke us up at five in the morning to tell us something was about to happen. About an hour later, the first kitten was born. Chai is super when it is finally time to push out the little ones. She has no trouble whatsoever to push them out, once they are close enough, but she takes breaks between the babies which is a good thing as each kitten have the time to dry and find somewhere to nurse before the next arrive.
The entire litter consists of four boys... Why all these boys?! Wish that the numbers will even out one day as they should according to the Law of Large Numbers ;)
Only one red in the mix and tabby as well! The names of the babies come from different Mozilla software, a suiting theme as daddy is named Mozilla ;)
I have never been that fond of high white in NFOs, but well, I could surely get used to it! SeaMonkey has a catching distribution of white.
Well, do I need to even write it?! This is simply a mini-Moz!

My plan was to add a picture of Thunderbird here as well, but at the moment (?) it seems impossible to add a sixth image. He is a cutie with his thin white stripe across his nose, but otherwise normally coloured for a Restless-cat ;)

In all, we are already quite pleased with the litter! A bunch of promising boys who already shows lovely technical details. Birth weights between 121-138 grams and after a few hours, they had already gained 2-8 grams (the first-born the most and last-born the least), so Chai surely has milk for them. We will enjoy having them here the first 3 months of their lives!
